Hi all, Ok, so I bought a new toy, Triumph Daytona 675 2009. It came with a power commander 3. It stalled a few times and didn't 'feel' right. So i removed the commander (didn't see the point when you can download maps anyway with the obd2 cable.) After removing it the engine management light came on.

The code is PO122 (Throttle position sensor low voltage - short to ground or open circuit.)

I cleared the code via TuneECU but it came back on.
Fiddled with the connections to no avale.
I downloaded an updated map, stayed off for about 10 mins but came back on while I was letting the bike idle sorting itself out.
I put the commander back on but bike wouldn't start.
Removed it again, started 1st time light came on, removed code but came on straight away.

I'm new to all this and learning as i go. Any thoughts at all what I can try. If it doesn't get sorted i'll be going round Llandow on my FZ6 again. Thanks

Make sure you have all connections the right way round, I know it may sound stupid but sometimes they use the same plugs for various items.

Throttle position should not stop it from starting as should still run in a limp mode, but badly.

Power commander would either go to the injectors or to the ecu dependant on model.

As it's coming up open circuit I would go with a dodgy connection. Possible bent pin in a plug.

Use tuneecu to reset the tps. This should be done every time you install a new map. I use to do remaps on all my trumpets.

Get you to buy a sports bike and you start fiddling and muck it up already :roll:

Repiv had the same issue on his. It had to go to triumph Dealer to be reset.
The Mobile Mechanic who came out with his diagnostic handset couldn't do it. Apparently the engine management light is Next level in the programming so has to be done by a dealership.

Apparently fixed
So tuneEcu had a reset tps button on the tutorial software but my latest version didn't have it. In my stupidity I presumed that after a map download it now did it automatically. It didn't, you have to go to the ecu menu reset the adaptation, which is the tps. Then let the bike run for 15-20 mins as I did before.
No engine light now. I say apparently fixed as I only had time for a short 2 mile run. But it was ok.
