Can anyone recommend a decent Ground/Wall Anchor?

I`ve already got the Almax chain with Squire lock, But pointless if i buy a crap Anchor. Need to fit a 16mm Link through.

Probably something thatcham approved, insurance companies like those :)

You can make a really good one with a bit of old scafold pipe bent into a U shape. Fill the centre with wet cement & a few bits of reinforcing wire & cement it into the ground.

Don't know if Thatcham would approve it though!

i got a great big oxford chain and wall/floor bracket for around 25 quid off ebay a few months ago. came with wakin great bolts that would take half the garage wall with it if you tried nickin the bike. :D

Shame that its likely your chains made of cheese, i think it was in a bike magazine i read at some point saying the most bikes have been stolen whilst protected with a oxford monster lock.

Was reading somewhere that the best way to chain a bike up is so there is no slack lying on the floor because even the best chains only take a couple of wacks with a sledgehammer to break if there is enough slack to give the thief space to hit it against the floor so i allways wrap mine round a couple of times now to use it all up......

I read that article too I think... and I'm sure the chain/lock that came out the best was 'Almax' (?) - still no use if on the floor tho!
