Stretch panels in the crutch area helps, so does yoga:-)
Have you considered surgery shins shortened and thighs lengthened.
Of course your bike could be physically to big. I remember when the 750k came out, the seat felt so long I thought I was gonna fall off the back of it.

As for me and some off you have seen i do it just for the odd pic when i am on track and for a giggle but when i am pushing on when on track i only ever touch the slider as more as a guide ie knee touches the flour and then touches the side fairing i know i do not have any more to give as i am right on the edge so there onwards its moving upper body to get the bit extra and as ruffian once saw in spain it was pretty much elbow down and i had nothing more to give from the bike.
To be fair Menzies its one off these things that most people at some point just want to do and to be fair it is all down to body position on the bike and how relaxed you can be and riding style as well also to agree with moose there are some very fast people out there who never drop a knee

I did Mallory a couple of weeks ago, and these days I find it's only at the hairpin and the right at Edwina's where I touch down. Both slow corners with a fast change of bike position. No longer at Gerrards or Devil's Elbow, the faster corners. I put my inside foot against the frame of the bike, well in from the end of the peg, and stick my leg straight out sideways and down. Having my foot further in, I think, pushes my knee down more than having it at the end of the peg. I also tend to ride quite forwards on the bike, which probably helps.
Are you getting right to the edge of your tyres? Or at least very close? If not, then you probably aren't leaning the bike as far you think, and certainly nowhere near its limits! I only have an old SV650S, and even that is capable of more than I am.
I learnt track riding at the old Anglesey circuit, and the hairpin there was where I first got my knee down, probably doing about 30mph. And I jump from side to side on the bike at these corners which may also help it to drop into the corner. Probably why my knees ache so much at the end of the day!

Well after 7 years it would seem that this is no longer a problem.

Went out to Parcmotor and on session 2 on day 1 got my knee down and then was going it all of the 3 days we were there.

What changed??

1) Advise from Gee46 to move my body forward do that my leg would be more down rather then out.
2) Change of leathers with gave me a lot more flexibility to move
3) leaned the bike a bit more.

Got to tell you there was a lot of screaming and shouting when i did it 7 years is a long wait.

Just make sure your knee is not followed by your elbow, shoulder, hips, head........... :)):

The only time that my knee gets within 2 ft. of 'down' is when I'm checking the tyre pressure.
Have you noticed that anyone going slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster is a maniac ?
