Finally the Welsh government have seen through all the smoke and mirrors and have refused to fund this.
As much as would have liked a new circuit to ride around on, it has still got to be viable.

The story is explained here:
http://www.bikesportnews.com/news/news- ... les-coffin" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Sad to say but there was a horrible inevitability about the outcome as it dragged on and on. Unfortunately the Welsh government aren't of the same mindset as in Spain where they're skint but still managed to build a world class track facility in the middle of nowhere - Motorland Aragon. Face the music folks, if this one couldn't be done then we'll never get a new circuit built anywhere feasible in the UK and the British round of MotoGP will either be at the barren prairie of Silverstone or at Donington with its poor facilities, contemptuous attitude towards spectators and truly abysmal access....

They should have MotoGP at Brands. Marquez at Paddock Hill Bend! And Moto3, 5 abreast!

A part of me think it would have brought work to the area...
But being realistic, the skill set up in the area that wouldn't possible..
I'm aware that the money is going to be put into affordable housing and primary and secondary schools etc...
I just think it's a life time away!!
Let's hope a private investor will come foreword...
Or maybe cut the salary of f1 drivers, spread the love!!

Re: CoW RIP(off)
That couldn't happen without serious investment in circuit safety and general infrastructure. The inner paddock there is pretty pathetic, though they have a split paddock at the Sachsenring this weekend. Run-off at places like the Druids hairpin would have to be at least doubled, and if MSV don't own the land behind it they can't achieve it... Though they could use imagination and British ingenuity as was done at Mallory when they needed to improve safety at the Esses - install a chicane before the corner! (Spit! Spit! Spit!)awkwardbydesign wrote:They should have MotoGP at Brands. Marquez at Paddock Hill Bend! And Moto3, 5 abreast!
Disclaimer: that comment was made in jest, no way would I ever suggest adding a poxy chicane to any circuit anywhere, ever
Can you imagine the reaction of the noise nazis who bought houses behind Dingle Dell?? They're no doubt foaming at the mouth and writing to the Daily Mail (spit) every time the Motostar bikes go out when BSB visit....
