Re: Anglesey, Sunday July 18th
Well where to start
Got to the B & B and decided to go look at the track. Ideal the B & B was only 15min from the circuit
couldn't get right into the track but only into the public viewing area & bloody hell the track is close to the sea
. Bumped into some guys i went to portimao with ( GixerJunkies ) there also having a look at what was to come on Sunday.
Woke up early Sunday only to look out the window to sea rain and mist
Got to the track and it was blowing gale force winds and so misty you couldn't even see the sea
Met up with with the Gixerjunkies and set up a bit of a wind block using the vans so they could put up there gazebo or was it a kite
The Junkies all had wets on wheels so decided to brave the conditions all went well until Dan came off at the last corner ( not the only one though ).
We eventually got Mr Smiler sorted with his wets and got him out for the last session before lunch though it had by now stopped raining
After lunch it was all change again for the guys running wets as the wind had considerably dried the track. We had now unloaded our bikes and were getting set to go out for our 1st session
Simon had a few scary moments and Bambam wasn't sure
meanwhile i was getting stuck into a few battles with a 1198 and a couple of cbr's.
The track is good and i think it would be better still if the sun was shining and the gale force winds stopped.
Definatly one to do again and at £25 a night the B & B was spot on though doing a full day on track we all thought it would be worth staying another night and travelling back the next day.

Re: Anglesey, Sunday July 18th
indeed where to start ?????
got there - fkin windy
got to the track - even more fkin windy, looked a good track though, difficult to say from the viewing point we had but still looked fun.
in the evening it actually looked like it was clearing up.............coulddn't be more wrong
it lashed it down in the evening, all night and just for giggles continued for most of the morning.
the paddock was half full upon arrival, whether this was because people had be blown away or just not bothered who knows, you could hear people muttering about if it was going to be cancelled or not but in the riders meeting they just put a delay of an hr on it.
the posh boys with the wets went out, then came back in commenting on gusts and slippery surfaces - this was in turn backed up by numerous red flags and flying plastic as mechanical stripteases commenced around the circuit
the most common place being the corner coming onto the start/finish straight. needless to say our bikes didn't make it out of the van until lunch(one session after mr smiler came back in).
we all went out, trying to keep up with people already 4 sessions in - fun. Back in, warmers on, let games commence
only had 3 sessions in the day and have to day i really enjoyed them all, each one in turn getting better and faster. had a few rear wheel step outs which were unexpected and very unwelcome but other than that couldn't fault it. nice fast lines aswell as tight complexes, arse clenching corners, cambered haipins and straights to have a good battle down.
i for one will be making the return journey but as has been said, i will be doing 2 nights b&b.
next time i think we need to order less wind and more sun though.
