NHCA events coming up at Wiscombe Park

Post by Riviera Guy »

A couple of great bike events coming up at Wiscombe Park – the Five Clubs meeting 3rd/4th September will have members of the National Hill Climb Association www.nhca.co.uk competing on their bikes, sidecars and trikes. They will be sharing the hill with the car competitors for the weekend.

And then the biggest meeting of the year in the SW – The Arnold Gimblett Speed Hillclimb on the 11th September. This is an “all bike/sidecar” event with around 140 competitors. The first “all bike” event was held at Wiscombe Park in 1969. Considered one of the most challenging and technical hills in the UK – a 1000 yard course, just 12 foot wide, with a 1 in 14 gradient and the riders will be exceeding 100mph through the S bends and hairpins.

Tickets are available at a discount from the web site www.wiscombepark.co.uk/events up to Friday 6pm before the event, then on the gate. Free access to the paddock and a good selection of food and refreshments available including a beer tent.

An album of photo’s from a recent meeting can be viewed on Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/riviera_g ... 9343005664 this gives an indication of the wide variety of bikes, sidecars and trikes competing at Wiscombe Park.
