No, not me

but there again, they can be bought very cheap and a decent shock and GSXR front end is a simple fit ....... and JHS were getting a reliable 140 rwbhp from theirs ....... so maybe

after reading through this thread this is what i come out with:
Everyone rides a bike diffrent to everyone else
Engine breaking on an inline 4 is not as good as a twin
People want different this out of a bike
You cannot compare a twin to an Inline 4............ Never!!
All in all.............
its down to how much riding experince you have and what you want out of a bike!!
after all 99.9% of us never use the bike to it's full potential.

Thanks for your replies. However, I do not like the shape of the current SV650S or the SV1000. The reason for wanting to upgrade is that my suspension is not that great on the SV and the gear change is not that great either. It would cost best part of £500 to sort the suspension and rear shock issue on the SV so it doesn't dive as much etc.
I like the looks of the CBR and thought it may work out better just to get a bike with better suspension to start off with and sell the SV when summer comes since I will not be able to recover the cost of upgraded suspension.
As mentioned before I was riding conservatively and will take another ride when the weather is a little warmer and try and ride it in lower gears.

hi ya ricky, after reading a previous thread, i remembered this thread of yours and as you are still concerned about your suspension, why not take the sv down to steve at peak performance and let him set it p for you. it may just be set up a bit funny. give it a try.
will be alot cheaper than new shocks

i really wanted a babyblade, but i'm 6'4", it was like sitting on a monkey bike, gave everyone in a shop a good laugh though

Steering - This electronic steering damper does all the steering work for you and felt artificial.
Overall,

I felt the bike was definitively faster and handled better (just) than the SV. However, the lack of instant throttle response and the crisp acceleration was absent. It felt as you were less engaged in the ride and the bike did most of the riding for you. It was certainly less fun than the SV. I came off a few junctions and corners and the bike felt as if it was restricted. It also lulls you into a false sense of security i.e. It feels more controlled at higher speeds when the dangers at that speed are equal on the SV or a CBR.
NOW WHAT? Well since I don't like the CBR6RR what can the SV be replaced with? I think I may just modify the suspension on the SV instead.
I know what you mean, and I believe al ot of it is to do with the fact that you have become used to the soul and charisma of a V-Twin.
I've ridden Japanese Multis most of my riding life, but recently took a shine to the Moto Guzzi Griso and bought one.
It's got something that you cannot put your finger on, but it feels alive and involving to ride.
This came home to me recently, when thinking I fancied a change, I took a demo ride on the new Honda CB1000R.
It was ultra smooth, felt light and blew my Guzzi into the weeds on outright performance, and yet despite all that, it felt dull, lifeless and boring.
I got back on my Griso after ward and knew that I would never be able to go back to a Japanese multi, no matter how good it's performance because owning the Guzzi has taght me there is a hell of a lot more to a bike than that.
It sounds to me like you've got the same problem now and you might end up feeling that the only way to go any better is with another V-Twin like a Ducati.
Oh and do yourself a favour and have a go on the Aprillia Tuono.
That bike is an absolute riot.
