It’s the end of an era- Bye Gixxer

Post by menzies3032 »

Very sad news that Suzuki have mad the call to call a stop to the much loved Gixxer. The 600 and the 750 had already been stopped due to the Euro emission but now it’s claimed the GSXR 1000 as well.

Having owned multiple Gixxers over the year got to say this is a very sad day, for all the nay sayers, and jokes about hedge finders, they were epic bikes that just used to last and last.

"Sources" let it be known Suzuki were working on a range of electric bikes but that project has been cancelled. I honestly think there will soon be no more Suzuki bike manufacturing at all.

It'll be in Chinese hands wanting to add the brand to their bikes.

This is what Suzuki have been up to now they aren't focusing on racing or sports bikes.

Shame it's only 80 hp but it is a twin (a parallel but pretending to be a V).

Actually the subframe is replaceable so they have learnt a bit from all the gsxrs crashing. The Honda's isn't.

Yeh, it does.
The press think they are aiming it at bikes like the new hornet but I think it is literally just an SV650 upgrade/replacement so more aimed at MT-07. Powerwise that's where it is anyway.. and the new DL800 is aimed at the T800, (I think) but cheaper.
The DL800 will be a hit as most owners loved the DL650 but wanted just a bit more power.
