This was my 1190 last night after a 45 mile loop to warm it up properly.

Prior to that it looked like this (major service time)

valve check

Then doing a garage wheelie for the coolant refill

and here's all the stuff that was used.

Motul 7100 Engine Oil & Oil filter
K&N Air filter oil
LHM is mineral clutch fluid
Elf Dot 5.1 brake fluid
OAT coolant.anti freeze
De-min water to mix with it

Everything a growing KTM needs for a major service.

You wouldn't of thought it required so many spoils to sit in a bubble for 340 days a year.

What do you do about the software updates that need ktm authorised dealers to install.

I don't do anything about them, the bike runs great and everything works.

It had 3 years of dealer servicing and so any updates that were due in time will have been applied (so up to 2018).
2016 was the last year for this bike, it's now an 8 year old bike so I doubt KTM are updating its software.

But I suppose if I wanted too I could ask a dealer to do a diagnostic check and software update, and they'd charge me something to do that.

Fair point there Jug, if all working well then happy days. My semi active suspension packed up last year, two authorised workshops just said the whole rear unit needed replacing, third shop ran a diagnostic check & update and only charged me £30.00

Nice, that shows that it pays to get a second opinion, or even a third when dealing with KTM.
I'm assuming the diagnostic check & update fixed the suspension?

Yes it's been spot on since ( that's put the kibosh on it ).
