MOT Sidelights?

Can anyone tell me if sidelights are part of the mot?
I've got main beam and dipped, but no sidelights because the connector isn't there. But I'm thinking since there is a switch on the bars for them that they are.
Got them on order from Bridge which should be here tomorow but got no way of getting up there to collect them unless I take the R6 with no MOT/Tax, unless I mot it at Bridge.
I need a bike on the road

Wouldnt of thought so, so long as its all disconnected. You can always black biro the sidelight symbol off the switchgear

. Prob best to ring ahead and ask?

There is no bulb holder to secure it to the headlight, sidelights are about 5mm wide and the gap is about 15mm.
Its there on the loom but no connector from the bulb to the loom.

I think side lights are required by law (hence them being there

), and whilst I cannot guarantee being correct in saying so, I am pretty sure they are checked at MOT time.
As with anything, if it's not there they can't test it, but if something is there in part (i.e. lights) it must be fully compliant

I can see the logic, similar with indicators - if they're there, they must work or take them off.

I have a switch for sidelights and no sidelights on my bandit and its passed 2 mot's like it......
http://www.motuk.co.uk/mcmanual_110.htm quite clearly states you don't need side lights "posistion lights" if you have a headlight. So i think you will be fine.
