hiya, having a few problems with my brakes. i've disassembled the front to have my forks repair now im trying to get the discs into the caliper and its closed up to much and I cant get it to open up any wider. little piston thingys (not very technical ) wont move back in. any ideas? getting tormented by this sunny weather! just want to ride

Have you levered them back against each other with a tyre lever or summat,
if so possibly they are seized in the calipers and need stripping and rebuilding,
it could be just a build up of dust on the piston though what may help in that case is too work the brake lever once or twice to push them out a bit then push em back in again , repeat a few times until they go back far enough to replace the wheel,
did you fit the wheel then the calipers or do you have the calipers already on the forks, because i find it easier to leave the calipers off the bike until the wheel is fitted and refit them after,
is there someone who knows more living near him that can go and take a look?? it is brakes and someone who knows more about em

If the pistons are full of sh*te make sure you clean them before trying to push them back in. a toothbrush and a can of brake cleaner should suffice.

Sounds like you've probably pulled the brake lever with no disc to stop the pads, it just pushes the pots/pistons out too far. Remove the brake fluid filler cap so air can escape, with the handle bars straight ahead so the oil doesn't spill over. Then simply push the pots/pistons back in and replace the reservoir cap. Strong thumbs should be enough if not use the handle of a hammer or some plumbers pliers or similar. If using pliers remove the pads first don't use pliers on the pad material, and obviously don't get oily fingers all over the pads.

yeah was just what you said 6th gear. all sorted now. managed to go for a nice ride today in the end =D.
