i think a 400 would be perfect for u i had a nc30 and tuned it up and was happy with that and in fact after everything i done to it, it kept up with some of the 600's on the road. and if u aint gonna feel confidant on a 600 id play it safe cuz u dont wanna pay all that money and drop it or lose cont...

i agree with the above comment i have a cbr600rr which i think is a perfect bike but my mate got a zx6r and i didnt feel comfortable on his so i think its a case of try befor u buy...
