I go out on green lanes almost every weekend, But bristol might be a bit far to come on a mud plugger.
I have a Harley davidson MT350 and do about 60 miles, some times further off road every weekend.

I rode a W650 accross europe last summer with no screens etc.
No problem at all however just traded it for a Peg and suddenly realised how much a little fairing helps.

Cabot tyres in totterdown will fit to rims.
Protyre in St George will fit to the bike, or try Unity Road Motorcycles in Keynsham, John is a really reasonable bloke down there.

Personally i would like to see all road users have to do a compulsory refesher training every 2/3 years - not a retest as I don't see anything to gain from that apart from more money the DVLA and people rely on their transport for work or a way of life and the prospect of loosing that isn't fair on ...

The is always the Inn on the Green loads of parking, Great Beers, Great Atmosphere - Pretty certain they'd be biker friendly

My younger bro got hold of a 2001 honda shadow for just over a grand a year ago.
All the 2nd hand V twin 125 cruisers have sky rocketed as the emmisons laws have stoped their manufacture but my advice to you is just keep checking ebay, bikertrader and mcn so see if on comes up.
