Re: lowering kits

Hi, thanks to all who replied, the concensus of opinion seems to be that it would be a good idea to drop the fork legs through the yokes a corresponding amount, this i will do, many thanks to all for the very useful info. cheers, Arnie

lowering kits

Hi, being a thick pensioner you may well laugh at this question. I have just fitted a lowering kit to my Honda NC750X which lowers the seat about 4 cm, my question is: do i also have to drop the forks in the yokes by the same amount or does this small amount not make any difference to the ride?

Re: second hand bike

Bought my yamaha XVS Midnight Star from Fowlers in Bristol last Sep, both tyres looked legal to me but Fowlers went ahead and put new rubber on for me and all i did was mention they looked a little worn, now thats service for you!

Re: Thank you Warrens Bakers

You just cannot beat a pasty made by Ivor Dewdney, grew up on them as a kid, they made me the man i am, (4 stone overweight), but they really are "the best in the West".

Re: polishing

Thanks to all the the info on polishing, jeeeez, no amount of nitromors would touch the lacquer on the forks of my XVS Midnight Star, just had to persevere with the wet and dry and then polish with mops in my drill, which lasted about six hours before it blew up with only half a fork to go! So its o...
