Hi, thanks to all who replied, the concensus of opinion seems to be that it would be a good idea to drop the fork legs through the yokes a corresponding amount, this i will do, many thanks to all for the very useful info. cheers, Arnie

lowering kits
Hi, being a thick pensioner you may well laugh at this question. I have just fitted a lowering kit to my Honda NC750X which lowers the seat about 4 cm, my question is: do i also have to drop the forks in the yokes by the same amount or does this small amount not make any difference to the ride?

Hi Damon, not sure where they are starting from but any rides usually start at the Station, i believe they are meeting between 8 and 8.30, i will be in touch with you but if not ill see you at Gliden Ford garage at half seven, i will text you before the 14th tho. Cheers.

Bought my yamaha XVS Midnight Star from Fowlers in Bristol last Sep, both tyres looked legal to me but Fowlers went ahead and put new rubber on for me and all i did was mention they looked a little worn, now thats service for you!

Thanks to all the the info on polishing, jeeeez, no amount of nitromors would touch the lacquer on the forks of my XVS Midnight Star, just had to persevere with the wet and dry and then polish with mops in my drill, which lasted about six hours before it blew up with only half a fork to go! Thanks to all for tips on removal of the mudguard embellishers, they are now off will no damage, used all the tips you recommended and they worked a treat, thanks to all.

Hi, need advice. I have a cruiser that at some time in the past has had these mudguard embellishers added, you know, the ones that stick on the leading edges, anyway they are now getting really tatty, the chrome which was wafer thin has started to peel off and the alloy underneath is grey and furrey...
