Re: action cameras

I know I've come to this a bit late, but might be helpful for someone :-) I recently got a SJ4000 wifi (not sure the wifi is worth the extra), and it is pretty good for the price. Just put up my first youtube video. OK, it's a bit long, but gives a good idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0XYRCSJO...

Re: Servicing costs.

I had the same issue with Bridge in Exeter for a major service on my Vstrom. Only difference is I asked for a quote, got told £550, and thought "sheesh" and went elsewhere, following recommendations on this forum. Did a good job In future when I buy secondhand bikes I'll probably avoid mai...

Re: Recommendations for servicing in Exeter?

Thumbs up for Bike Worx. £354 for major service on my Strom (they'd quoted £360-420, to Bridge's £490 after haggling them down from £550) Proper job done, calipers all nice and cleaned up, everything well lubed. I'm confident the hidden bits like valve clearances have been done properly. I'll be goi...

Big thumbs up for Bike Worx Exeter

Just got my Vstrom 650 back from Bike Worx after a big 14500 mile service (valve adjustments etc). £354 Inc parts and VAT. Calipers wire brushed clean - looks really good. Confident it's all been done, and cheaper than the £300-350 + VAT quoted.

5 stars! And £150 cheaper than Bridge quoted.

Re: Waterproof Biking Clothes

I'm with Graham on this - waterproofs should be waterproof! ! But they're not as proved by the various times I've ended a ride in even moderate rain looking like I have poor bladder control! Waterproofs seem to cope for a bit, but eventually it gets through. I now keep a pair of Oxford overtrousers ...

Re: Recommendations for servicing in Exeter?

Thanks for the tips guys.

I'm booked into the Worx in Exeter, partly cos it's really near my work. I called in and it seems a professional and knowledgable outfit. I'll let you know how I get on.

Re: Recommendations for servicing in Exeter?

Just the routine servicing. I'm fine doing the basics myself, but this time valve clearances need seeking/adjusting - beyond my confidence level!

Recommendations for servicing in Exeter?

Hi folks

Can anyone recommend a reliable outfit for servicing bikes in or near Exeter? I've used Bridge up to now, but they are quoting silly prices now, so looking for alternatives. I ride a 2012 Suzuki Vstrom 650

Cheers!

Hi from Exeter

Hi all Pleased to have found this forum - looking forward to picking peoples' brains! And hopefully to meeting some soon. I'm a relative newbie to bikes. I've been riding a VStrom650 for about a year. Before that it was a 125 scoot for commuting, but I found I enjoyed it so much I wanted a 'proper' ...
