If you change the bars for lower ones, particularly if they are are narrower, the clutch and throttle cables will almost certainly be too long. When you turn the bars to full lock, they will probably kink and go stiff. Best case, you can't pull the clutch in. Worst case, the throttle will jam open. ...

Like a lot of apparently simple jobs it's not as easy as it sounds - I've done it. First of all, check just how much drop there will be to the bars with clip ons under the top yoke - it may be more than you're expecting and you could end up bent double.
