Re: Compulsory face masks... what about helmets??
I've never seen any storage for helmets? Where are they? When I was in Ibiza, they have storage lockers in the supermarkets. You just pop your helmet in there and take a key, then retrieve it when you leave. It's a pretty good system! My point precisely. Sarcasm. Why would I take my helmet costing ...

Re: Compulsory face masks... what about helmets??
I don’t get the ‘discrimination’ thing Someone wears a head covering for religious reasons, so that’s worn all the time. Someone wears a face mask because it’s being made law for COVID-19 When you enter the shop with a bike helmet on, your no longer riding your bike, just take it off, don’t see the...

Re: Compulsory face masks... what about helmets??
Riot police usually wear Alpine Stars full leathers? And I always carry my riot shield and baton when riding my motorcycle... :)) No but riot police wear helmets and impact protection.. does that resemble anything you use on your motorcycle? I think some people just look for things to get upset abo...

Re: Compulsory face masks... what about helmets??
I just pay at pump. Menzies wears his lid when he goes shopping in tescos to protect himself. He also wears his license around his neck for i.d That's not a bad idea, might try it. Or remove my helmet so the shops CCTV gets a good lock, then put it back on. As for paying at the pump, I was more tal...

Re: Compulsory face masks... what about helmets??
TBH I think you have missed the point of why they ask. It's not really for identification, it's because it can appear threatening to the general public to see a person wearing what is roughly akin to riot gear walk into a shop.. Yes, I see your point! Riot police usually wear Alpine Stars full leat...

Compulsory face masks... what about helmets??
Hey, thought I'd post this here to see other biker's views. As you are probably aware, it'll soon be compulsory to wear a face mask in shops. However, Morrisons and Tesco have asked me to remove my helmet on several occasions. I've emailed in complaints, as I view this as discrimination due to the l...

Re: ZX10R steering lock stuck on
Thanks for all the replies. I've spoken to quite a few people about it now... think I'm going to take the job on myself and take the lock off. Hopefully I'll be able to get another key coded to my ECU if the lock needs replacing. If not, then it'll probably be a whole kit. I spoke to a locksmith who...

Re: ZX10R steering lock stuck on
Tamperproof bolts are replaceable. From your description it's difficult to tell the exact problem. Is it the ignition imobiliser is still active? If the key is close enough and the key is in the on position then the ignition immobiliser shouldn't be on. But is it just that barrel has snapped so the...

Re: ZX10R steering lock stuck on
Hi, no they haven't said it'll be a big bill, just that it might be. Spoke to a few garages so far, they're all quite vague and say the bike will need to be there in front of them to tell. Problem is that I don't want to commit to a garage yet... trying to find out more about the issue. So I don't w...

ZX10R steering lock stuck on
Hi, I'd appreciate any ideas on this one. I was selling my ZX10R, it was working fine. I put the key in the ignition to start it, all was fine. I went in to get some paperwork, they asked to take it up the road. I put the key in to start it, but it just spun in the lock. The lights were on but the b...

Re: CBR125R cutting out at idle when warm, things to check?
Ok firstly, thanks for all the help and replies. I serviced the bike yesterday, changing the air filter(didn't need doing), oil and spark plugs. I also checked the coil contacts, they were a bit dirty so I cleaned them up. Bike is now running ok, doesn't cut out anymore at all. So it was either the ...

Re: CBR125R cutting out at idle when warm, things to check?
Ok I've replaced the battery... still has the problem. It got worse today, I opened the throttle quickly while going about 50mph... and it bogged down. From what I've read I think it may be the coil, thoughts?

Re: CBR125R cutting out at idle when warm, things to check?
Knackered plug? Tick over too low? Does it stop if you keep revs up? I'd be surprised if it was the plug as it's only on 3500 miles from new. But I've bought a service kit anyway to replace the plug, filter and oil. I also bought a new battery as from what I've read and people here say I probably k...

Re: CBR600RR wouldn't start... then did.
Ah so kick stand switch sounds like the likely culprit then. I'll check it out, thanks for the pointers! I've managed to get the cover right to the bottom of the bike by fastening it under the wheel, hopefully it'll keep it a bit drier. Any joy did that sort it? TBH it hasn't done it again... and I...
