So, if I fit this carbon end can that is within the legal decibel limits I won't get busted? Any info on this would be great before I splash out on a standard exhaust for the nice men at the MOT station!!

Legal Vs Illegal End Cans
I've just purchased a Tyga Perfomance carbon end can and I'm looking for a standard NC30 exhaust silencer for my MOT, but I heard that the silencer is only illegal if the decibel levels are too high. Also, it DOESN'T have 'NOT FOR ROAD USE' stamped on it.

That's my understanding too
My TL has aftermarket cans, and they are not stamped, and it went through the MOT OK - the tester just made an advisory note that the exhaust was louder than stock
Mind you, my bike is still quite quiet .......

depnds who does ur mot, some peole can be a pain in the ass. they want stamps silencers, Db level check the lot. toher will just say aslong as its quiet enough.
example 1. my mate went in wiht well illegal pipes on his bike, and the mot'er told me he shoudlnt have passed it, but it sounds soo good he let it pass. lol.
totaly depends on whos doing ur MOT. best thing to do is go down to wehre u want to get it done and ask them what they require. simple

I wouldn't go in and ask first, especially with your bike there as they'll only be looking for it then! I think it needs to pass an emissions and decibel check, but i don't know if emissions has anything to do with an end can. I'd just ask around see where seems pretty good and then decide to take it to CVPiper's place

If the can does say not for road use on it, put some tape or a sticker over it. The MOTer cnat't remove anyting to do the test. Don't think you need BS numbers.

The Micron system on my GSXR said.. "Race Use Only"... but I took some wet and dry to it and took it off then mirror polished it back up again..
Passed MOT, thing is.. the MOT'r doesnt start the bike for an MOT.. Just stick some sticky black tape over the writing, they cant remove it
