Bike Mileage
i've had my bike for just over a year now and have managed to clock up over 5,000 miles on it, which considering I thought I'd only done about 3k I was quite surprised....

I've had my bike about 20 months and have done 15K miles on it which considering don't commute on it is surpirsing (also means about £1000 worth of rubber - no wonder i'm always skint).
My bikes now at approx 33K how many miles has your bike got on it???

Re: Bike Mileage
I do about 4000 miles per year on the SV and 1-2000 commuting on the scooter.
I don't ride the SV to work if its wet as it will start to dissolve
Total mileage so far about 11,500. Not much for a 5 year old bike, but it only had 850 on it when I got it 3 years ago.

Re: Bike Mileage
My bike had 1 mile on it when I got it last September.
Only really did the 1,000 mile wear in before I tucked it up for Christmas, Febuary she came out again now she reads 5,500. (ish)

Re: Bike Mileage
Before I learned to drive I used to do 20k a year.
Now I can use my wifes car it's down to around 10000. Only trouble with high mileages like that is it means your bike is worth bugger all when you come to sell it.
Highest mileage I've ever seen in a year is my Dad who does over 30k a year, but he commutes from Penzance to Newport every week on his GSX1400.

Re: Bike Mileage
In the car I prolly do about 3k a year, it's just not so much fun tearing around the countryside in a cage

Re: Bike Mileage
I only got my bike back on the road in Feb and have done approx 6k miles since then. Most of it seems to have been in the wet tho
or tho there was one nasty hail storm that left me looking like I had chicken pox even through my clothing and the road a couple of inches deep in marbles made of ice

Re: Bike Mileage
I managed to clock up 9800 miles on my 50cc road legal motorcross bike last year, brought it from new and rode it for 11 months. So thats 9800 miles and no faster than 60mph. Since July this year I've clocked up just over 4000 on my ZXR400.
