sv1000

Post by watters »

been looking around at bikes on the net to see whats about and came across the sv1000 (naked). havnt really thought much about these but seen the price they go for and thought they seem to be a lot for the money, heres one for example

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/03-SUZUKI-SV1000- ... dZViewItem

2003 plate, low mileage, cheap price, seems a bit too good to be true, anybody had any experiences with these?

I dont think thats excessively cheap, you can pick up a tuono of the same age and milage for about 3250-3500.

I recon thats priced to sell not someone daydreaming of getting a fortune for a bike thats just not worth it.

as for the riding, I test rode one when they were new and wasn't really blown away by it, its a quick bike and was comfortable but the engine power and handling isn't in the same league as my aprilia (IMO).

I think it'd be a good buy if you want one

im just after something the beggining of next year to play around on while i save up enough money to get something like an sp-2,2004 r1 or something similar, so for that sort of cash i dont think its bad at all!

And JHS in Bristol can get a reliable 140bhp out of one too (at a price)

GSXR front ends bolt in, a nice Ti-Force exhaust, and a decent shock and away you go :D

The stock motors aren't a patch on the TL though ......

It'll be a dog of a Tuono at that price. I looked at a couple a few months ago.

SV thous have either good or shoite suspenders, no in between and no rhyme or reason as to why they vary so much from bike to bike, there are a few mods that can help though.

bollix,

I picked mine up 2 months ago, 1 previous owner it had done 4600 miles, brand new BT014's plenty of T&T and double bubble screen alarm&imob and completely standard except for a pair of mini indicators that went straight in the bin (and the screen obviously, standard that is not thrown in the bin :? ).

I did look for a long time for the right bike and discounted several just after chatting to the owners but this seller was a decent 40 something bloke that had a couple of bikes in the garage blah blah blah.

so no, not every tuono with a selling price starting with a 3 is going to be a dog.

Ebay is one of them things you can pick up somthing good or something you really bad

I had a mate looked at a ZZR1100 fully kited out £1500 on ebay

it did not get sold by the time it finshed

he called him up the bloke said yep are keep it back for you

£150 odd on a plane ticket to scotland to pick it up

just before he left on the Saturday he got a Txt saying

"sorry sold it on thursday"

my point its not the items you have to worry about, its the people saling them on Ebay

hope you understand
