However, whilst washing the thick film of winter crud from my beloved machine yesterday I did find myself thinking of the biking year ahead, and of all the things I want to try and do on two wheels.
So, I thought I'd share them with you all so that you may chip in with your biking New Years resolutions too! Come December 31st 2008 we can look back on this thread and see how we all got on!
Here's mine then:
1. To prove to myself that 'smoother is faster'. By that I mean that I want to focus less on riding fast, and more on riding smart. I'm sure that it's true that fast riding is a by-product of smooth riding and, is therefore safer than simply ragging it. I need to develop those skills some more.
2. After 1 above - to tear up the Pyrenees! Or maybe I'll finish doing the first resolution on the Pyrenees?
3. To get on more rideouts with you lot. I had a great time this year - when the weather played nice.
4. To do a trackday. I'm inherently fearful of stacking my bike though. Not really because of possible injury to myself, but because I really need my bike! I use it for commuting, fun, everything! To be without it due to a trackday spill would be a real pain in the butt.
Your go...
