This has happened already with James Toseland wearing one of their suits in motogp and will be really good for the product if he manages to get on the podium 8)

a good post layne and i hope your right especially for the local economy but after seeing what FT has done with lintek and motrax i cant see it working in the long run. the FT group have a large presence in motorcycle outlets but it isnt a good one,its just theres no-one else out there big enough to compete with them....

I just don't think FT will keep their noses out, I hope they do, but I reckon they'll be looking at reducing cost to increase margin, after all they are a big player and are gonna want a decent return.

No harm in that, but the best way to reduce margin will be cheaper lower quality raw materials, and cheaper labour. If they keep production in Exeter then they are not going to reduce labour costs, so it will come down to raw materials, which will mean a reduction in quality whichever way you look at it, and I can't see a company as big as FT being dictated to by Brian no matter how determined he is.

This could all be true, but hopefully it won’t get that bad.

Of course it may be just an exist strategy by the Sansom’s – otherwise they could go the same way as Crowtree and close the business down when they retire with nothing.
