Hi Jade, is that an Akrapovic can on there? If you don't want to hang onto it a mate of mine has just bought a 600FX trackbike and I'm sure he'd appreciate a spare can, battered or otherwise... If you're going to replace it can you drop me a PM and I'll let him know about it? Is it a full system or just a slip-on? Either way I'm sure Jon would take it off your hands as the system on his new bike isn't the correct one I reckon because it fouls the swingarm when the rear's unloaded.
Don't worry if you don't get a reply form me quickly, I'm off to Albacete with Phase One on Wednesday and won't get back to check mail until Sunday.
Cheers
Scotty

Oh well, it worth asking, but all the same it'd be worth a look, it's surprising what you can achieve with a bit of judicious tin-bashing - I even had to do that for Phase One in China four years ago after Henry Fincher lobbed the junior bike... on his way into pit-lane  - found a good local engineer in the units behind the paddock and he helped us sort it out (plus I've reclaimed one or two of my own after er.... modifications
 )
If you still have it I can have a go at reclaiming it...

Hmmm... having seen the pic I'm inclined to agree with the others' prognosis - that's fecked, time to weigh it in... never mind Jade, my mate Jon has the world's worst luck with bikes (well anything, truth be told) - he swapped the camchain tensioner on his FX at the weekend as it was worn and noisy, everything put back together as it should be, dropped it at a local shop for a dyno run to verify fuel:air mix ok with a K&N filter, first run, 14k rpm BANG! one conrod exits stage left.. I've never really heard of a CBR engine throwing rods - we don't think it was tuned... maybe one day he'll learn the dangers of buying bikes from Fleabay - he's now after an engine for one, and he'll be on it at Llandow, his luck permitting...

That was a good trip indeed Layne - hard to believe it's already four years since we went... Shane Russ talked you out of coming to Albacete tomorrow - wish us luck, watch us on the telly and on race24 :D
