Sorry to hear that Kelly - you're not having much luck of late

Do you not have "uninsured loss protection" as part of your policy :? The providers of that cover (often separate from the main insurance company) should provide a solicitor to help you there. Make sure you keep ALL receipts that are a direct result of the incident. Speak to your broker/insurer

The insurance companies all pay into a fund that is used to compensate the victims of uninsured accidents - can't remember the name right now - so you should be able to claim off that :?

There is a bureau but the excess has to be £400 or more for them to pay back, and my excess is £300 so I need to find another way of getting is back, the police have advised me to take the driver to small claims court to get my money back but I need to look into.

So I'm not having much luck atm but it could have been worse as Gav says I know how to crash

If anyone has any suggestions please help me.

Really sorry to hear about your crash. Are you able to say what the circumstances were? I mean, was it a clear cut case? Do you have witnesses? Etc.

The funny thing was he said he wanted to sort it outside of the insurance. We gave him a quote for £270 and he turned it down! actually expected us to pay for the damage to his £200 scrap heap Escort which already had damage on every corner.

Turns out he took out insurance about 3 hours after the accident and expected no-one to notice.

Police have advised that they will take him to court etc. I am ok very sore tho I have a torn ligament in my shoulder and my left knee is very battered and brusied plus other aches and bruises but not bad. Was pretty lucky that it wasnt any worse
