now theres a person driving round cornwall with a nice bike sized dent in their lovely white daewoo any breakers on this site keep a look out for LHS indicators (front and back) and lhs footpeg hangar/bracket with gear lever for zx6r j1 (2000)

also, im taking a long shot but anyone in cornwall (around falmouth) with the tools to change a chain and sprocket set (rivet link chain), money for the labor at a garage has to go to new parts/excess on insurance

I've got a carbon (actual not fake) hugger to fit a J1, sure we could come to a deal. It's the sort that doesn't need the stupid braket that bolts on to the bobbin mount, so you can still use a padock stand.

well id been out for a blast on monday day, given the break in the rain i took the oppertunity, out for a good hour and a half, 2 hours, not crazy run more of an adventure of new roads, anywho on my way back into falmouth i decide to take a detour towards a more scenic route to swanpool beach (where gf + parents were) instead of the route through town i was going to take

did a U-turn on a roundabout and went left at the next roundabout which leads onto a 2 lane bypass that goes from falmouth>adsa (some might know it) the start of this bypass is a might steap hill, so cars going from the 30 zone fail to even keep at 30, anyway, at the top is a giant roundabout with an exit a about 11 o clock, and the bypass continues at about 2 o clock

when i entered the bottom of the hill i mentally took note of a white daewoo reaching the top of the hill in the left hand lane, when i then reached the entry to the roundabout i scanned right and entered, preparing to take my first exit, surprising to me was the fact the white daewoo has been tip toeing around the absolute outside of the roundabout, heading for the second exit and was blocking my escape, i came up on her 4-5 o clock but didnt have enough stopping or turning power (was trying to mix hard brakes and tipping it right to go under her?) and solidly impacted her car at about a 30 degree angle, jolting me forward and whiping the bike out from under me

now these 2 arguments ive been having with my friends in this area, every local that uses that roundabout enters in the right hand lane to take the second exit, left hand lane to take first exit (which ive noted over my experience of using the road) despite the fact that she was probably correctly using the road as its a 2 lane entry/exit of the bypass and the roundabout is definately wide enough for 2 lanes, i just wasnt expecting her to still be on the roundabout when i got there, whether she was taking the first or second exit, so didnt pay as much attention to my left as my right when entering, and totally unprepared

It's common for people to use the left lane to go right, commonly cutting across the right lane of the roundabout in the process.

So the Daewoo was in the left lane turning right and you were in the right lane turning left???? - hope you didn't leave any oil on that roundabout

The offer's still there to get your sprockets fitted, if you have a split link, we can fit the new chain (i can shorten it if req'd), you can take the bike to SW Motorcycles or Sprites & get them to replace the split link with a soft rivit link - should only cost 5-10mins labour that way.

I'm back in Falmouth now & have the garage to use.

Had a lorry cut accross me there too, him on the left, me on the right, and he just cut right accross the roundabout Luckily in a company car, so wouldn't have cost me for the repairs, but unsettling just the same

naw she was in the left lane going right, i was in the left lane going left, she was just being slow about it, like i said, from what i logged when i was at the bottom of the hill (she was just going over the brow) i didnt expect there to be anyone on the roundabout as it was just me and her travelling in the same direction, so i just had to check my right as i entered, which i did

props to her for using the road correctly tho, left lane entry, left lane on the roundabout, probably exiting on the left, the amount of times i swear at other people for switching lane 4-5 times up to/during/exiting a round about, bugs me alot

ill hold my hand up as being my fault, at the end of the day she was just driving and i hit her

when i realised i was approaching a car in the way, the only thought i had was i hope shes exiting left so swung right and broke to hopefully go around her, when she continued to go round the roundabout, my plan went out the window

Forever mate, moved back into my own house now I paid the ex off (ouch)

Let me know what size chain it is & I'll see if I have a split link - your's is a soft rivet & I have no way of doing that (not really happy with peening it over with a hammer on someone else's bike but have done my own before). At least you'll be able to ride the bike to a shop to get them to fit your link next day etc - that should say you some cash.

Rather than wait for genuine Kawasaki clutch lever is it not worth getting a universal lever & clamp, these are quite cheap locally, I might even have one you can borrow. Also how's your gear lever broken - can we do something??

heh congratulations i suppose anywho i dont mind u having a go at peening it if youve done it before, did come out right? i wouldnt like to guess what size it is hehe, on the box it has "108" and "525" with no particular description

my gear lever is just bent really, havent even checked the linkage cus its been raining, tbh genuine pare of levers from breakers are usually no more than 20 quid on the ebay, as is the hangar/footrest/gearlever/linkage assembly, but if it can be straightened it wont all need replacing

only thing that may cause a bit of hassle is the indicators, alot rarer to find from breakers as they usualy get smashed in whatever incident eans the bike is in the breakers

have to organise a day for you to take the giant journey over and have looky looky

I have a spare 525 split link cos I'm about to fit new chain and sprokets tonight, and the old 400 Bandit runs on a525 chain. A usefull connection for you would be MY Motors in Druth, ask for Ross. He's got lots of bits a piesces of 525 around as it used to be the common chain size then the manufacturers all changed and it fell out of use, making it more costly to get chains and stuff. He a bloody good bloke who does the job at a sensible rate and if it takes quiker than expected he'll tell you and charge accordingly !
