hey guys,
recently come off my corona srad and then got the news of my first child is on the way.
so i thought i best get a lil cheap bike to run me to work and back ( can share the car with the mrs ) im not a wealthy man so was lookin to be spending about £500-£900 on a bike.
so far havnt found ANYTHING in that price range. untill i stumbled upon a 1994 ducati monster 600 in plymton .. for 950 . tax and tested .. gud tyres .. gud chain and sprok .. twin carbon cans and looks pretty clean. engine casings could do with a lil paint and it needs new fork seals.
i dont know bugger all about ducati's let alone the monsters.
anything u can tell me about em ??
cheers guys

There was a thread here by Fluffy Bunny a couple of months ago, i reckon most of the pro's and cons were covered

what was the matter with it ??
for £950 you'll be lucky to find a good condition bike that doesnt need somethign spent on it. my zx7r was only £1200 but still had another £200 to spend once i'd got it home

bloke didnt have a clue when the belts where last changed .. bike had no service history .. fork seals where gone and it kept salling anytime he put it into 1st.
i had a zx9r before which i had for a while and only payd £800 for it and it done me very well never had any serious problems with it.
i know its gonna be a hard task finding a half decent bike in that price range but its all i got to work with. first child on the way i shouldnt really be spending that much lol.

that sounds like a wise enough decision to me, too much work for the price. you'll find something if you look hard enough, maybe set your budget a little lower to allow for money to be spent on things like fork seals, brake pads etc
