Look at a 600 bandit for insurance on that, i found a 1200 bandit is still cheaper to insure than a newish r6 or similar.

can you get side fairing like this with all the SV's?.. this is on the '09 one.. can it be done with the older ones like '99 etc or is it just with new ones? First time i've seen it and it looks awsome! :)

yeh they dont look as nice as the newer ones but i think the Sv's look nicer with them than without. would adding them count as a modification and affect insurance or anything? im quite tempted now :)

Hi,

My Sv costs £190 to insure including legal and PA. TPFT only as the SV is not worth that much anyways since it is cheaper to fix if I drop it! I am 21, 3 years riding experience now and no accidents in last 3 years and no points. Bike is locked in garage etc.

The quote was with Bike sure/Adrian Flux. It also includes riding all other bikes TP only which is useful.

As people have mentioned, the SV is a twin and works well when restricted. It is a lot of fun at legal speeds but the suspension and build quality are not as good as Honda/Yamaha but you don't pay the price!

Blue Sv650s Curvey - Now unrestricted but starting to find the suspension a problem.
Next bike: CBR600RR eventually.

My SV has them on the side. I have them listed on my insurance but the insurance company told me that on my policy only engine, suspension and handling mods will cause and increase in premium.

They come standard on the SV sport. Look at http://www.forums.sv650.org.uk

You can pick up and 08 plate for about £3k now. Brand new ones are about £4K and an old one like mine (1999) is worth between £500 and £2000 depending on mileage and condition. After coming up for 2 years ownership, only the reg/regulator has failed. Servicing and running costs have been very cheap compared to my car.

Not sure, have a look at the classifieds. GWR gerry I think is selling an 04 plate one for £2400 with 13,000miles.

You can have mine for £1800! Image
