Re: Cadwell trackday 18th October
Good boy,there's only one non racer that I know off who's got air over the mountain and when I say air it was only a inch or two but air all the same
Being overtaken by a racer on the mountain section is somthing else though

Re: Cadwell trackday 18th October
As you'll all find out, Cadwell is the best circuit, just so much fun to ride, and I'm pretty envious - would have been a nice way to close the season, only been there twice this year, but I'll be off-roading in Spain that day anyway
If you all decide you like it, what d'ya say to another mass SWB migration up there next season? Sadly, weekends and Fridays on track there are few and far between nowadays, certainly compared with previous years, due to racing and practice days, which is fair enough I guess.. Race season now pretty much over, hence a Sunday on track
Enjoy... hope the weather's good for y'all

Oh yeah, does anyone want to know the best wheelie technique for the Mountain?

Re: Cadwell trackday 18th October
105db measured the exact same way as Pembrey. So you 'should' be getting the same readings as Pembrey. I did on my SP1 anyway...

when going through the chicane bit at the bottom don't hug the left too tight (ripples) and take a sweeping arc through the right and up the Mountain (don't apex it tight at the bottom, there's a bump there) - as you climb it, aim to go from left side towards the centre 'cos if you stay left you'll go grass-tracking after the crest. The double crest is less pronounced than before but the wheelie technique is still the same; gas it up the slope (I use 2nd, but it's long 2nd on a ZX), feather the throttle lightly as you crest and let the bike's momentum lift the wheel, then catch it with the throttle and keep it airborne for 30 metres or more, letting it rev out
, feather the brake to shed a little for Hall Bends - DON'T get carried away with your wheelie prowess and miss the turn in for Hall by the clubhouse for you'll go across the grass and you WILL crash and possibly T-bone someone else too (a mate of mine did just that on his second ever session there - day over for him
)
carry 2nd right through Hall Bends, 1st for the Hairpin and back up to 2nd for Barn. The Mountain's only one feature of it, Charlie's is the best corner, but for anyone's first there, take your time and learn it all before trying to set lap records - it'll seem really narrow at first but it's ok. Ask to follow an instructor round if need be.

aim for the centre is the best tip,do not stay to the left at all costsScotty wrote:Erm, there's a little more to it than that....deej wrote:aim for the right and gas it ??Scotty wrote:Oh yeah, does anyone want to know the best wheelie technique for the Mountain?![]()
