zzr 400 wnt start after a ride

the bike starts perfectly on the first self without throttle when cold but after i take it out on a ride n it gets a bit warm n i turn it of and start again it will kep on piking the self but the engine wnt start n there is a cliking sound from the fuel pump but if i wait for about 20 mins it will start again in a jiphy......the bikes runing condition is perfect goes all the way very smooth....expert help plz

I think you have a heating problem.

And spell checker problem too, Check the coolant level in the rad and overflow bottle, do it when it's stone cold though!

wow you guys do criticize the new guy must be enticing rite ;p btw i m Ahsan n the just replaced the coolant so i don't thinks its that and the bike doesn't heat up it goes on fine but its when i turn it of it doesn't start

What happens when you press the starter ? Does it click ? Does the engine try to fire or is it silent ?

Could be coils breaking down. Does it try to fire ?

when the bike is cold it starts up immediately but when its warm it does fire takes a long self but the engine doesn't start.....

How does it sound when you go to fire it up, is it turning over normally and not firing?

Could be Regulator / Rectifier not working? Not charging the battery but as the battery stands still it regains charge? Maybe, could be a number of things, where abouts are you based?

I reckon poor compression in the barrel after warming up.

Valve clearances done recently?
if there out of tollerance when a bikes hot i think they make it hard to start..?

Valve clearance was gonna be my next suggestion, just easier to check the charge first as doesn't involve removing engine bits first

I would also agree valves must be out , its just text book how you let the bike cool and its fine again , could though in all fairness be the plugs knackerd and need changing maybe ?
