engine paint

Post by devonbiker »

Hey all, firstly a massive thank you to all the help and info that you guys have given me.

i now have a replacement engine, looks bit messy... im looking to paint it pref black.

I know i would have to use high temp paint.. but this is a first for me.

can you guys advise me on what i need to do and be careful of.. or is a case of just buying the paint and painting.

thanks guys

Pretty much yes :D , just make sure you bung up all inlet and outlet holes, exhaust ports etc. , give the engine a good wire brush to remove old flakey paint and make sure its degreased and clean.

Then follow whatever instructions are on the can/tin.

Does it have to be primed or is that taken care of by the special paint ?

If you want matt black plastikote barbeque paint is good, but engine paints are available from good motor factors
