Update on this, hand has healed ok and now, after 6 sessions of physio should be ready to ride again.
Indicator fitted and bike is booked in for MOT next friday so all being well, should be back on the road next weekend. Looks like I've missed the worst of the weather as well which is a bonus!!
Insurance case isn't going too well- looks like it will be a long drawn out affair.
Still tempted by a cheap chinese/ hong kong bodykit, noticed one of the journalists in performance bikes magazine has ordered one for a GSXR so I will be following that to see what fit/ finish is like. Will continue to use mine scuffed for now.

I bought a chinese kit once, the fit was tight but ok with little modification.

Aplogies for dragging this thread from the deep.
Insurance case still ongoing. Been offered 50/50 but not accepting that.
Anyways, its become apparant that my hand/ wrist has some lasting damage which means anything over 30 mins on a sportsbike is agony. So current plan is to look at something more upright.
Assuming I can get £1500 for my cat D cbr600rr, budget will be £4k absolute max. Current thinking is Speed Triple 1050, Street Triple, KTM Superduke 990, CB1000R. Havent tried any yet, my personal favourite is a Superduke but there are very few below £4k. Also the bike will be used in all weathers so needs to be well finished (guessin the Honda will be best for this but they hold here money well)
Any opinions/ advice

A few people including myself on here have recently made the move from sportsbike to nakeds and almost wish we did it sooner,
I have got the kawasaki z750r, which I would recommend, maybe another choice
Gee46 on here has a 1050 triple and love it to bits, (had a gsxr 750 before)
And both are very good bikes. The triple is a very torquey bike and playful.
A cbr 600 rr for 1500£ even if it is on the register does seem a fairly nice deal.

Sorry to resurrect this thread but i really need help!
Im seeking help regarding an vehicle (motorcycle) i bought off a private person, the bike was imported from UK. the motorcycle came with UK logbook and uk plates(I’m in Republic Of Ireland).Ive checked the bike on DVLA website and the bike is registered in UK, chassis number is confirmed so is the reg. The day i went to buy the bike, before i closed the deal i rang DVLA asking for info about the bike(to see if is declared stollen or scrapped) and I’ve been told by the DVLA worker the bike doesn’t show as stollen or scrapped in their system. Then i asked what is the best procedure to get the bike registered in Republic Of Ireland. Ive been advised by the DVLA worker to send the logbook along with the form V756 to them and they will issue an Certificate Of Permanent export which will help me to register the bike in Ireland. Done that, send it registered to Swansea, DVLA head office and waited for an answer. 2 weeks later they send me a letter saying the motorcycle i just bought is registered as Scrapped(even i asked beforehand the DVLA worker when i bought the bike if it is and the answer was NO) and that they won’t issue an certificate of permanent export also won’t send back the original Logbook i sent to them. Irish authorities refuse to register the vehicle as i don’t have the original UK logbook or certificate of permanent export issued by DVLA. The bike is in perfect condition and it wasn’t repaired(I’ve had Ducati Ireland have the bike visually inspected as it is a Ducati Monster 696) and they confirmed the bike wasn’t repaired or crashed.
Any Help Is Much Appreciated.
