Peak Performance

Post by tigertone2000 »

Hi, I've just joined after searching online re. PeakPerformance in Exeter and finding some references in this forum - does anyone know what's happened to this business?

I went there lunchtime today to find it's closed down - a handwritten message on the sign outside simply says 'now closed'. Both phone numbers are not in use/not accepting calls, the website's still up and there's no mention of anything on it.

I wasn't a frequent customer, doing most things myself but I really rated Steve and he was my 'go to' guy when necessary. He always seemed to have loads of work and initially I hoped he'd just moved but if that was the case, there'd be a mention on the website etc. I hope nothing horrible's happened in his life and if he reads this, he has my best wishes.

Anyone know more?

Don't know the full story but I believe he's working for Hel in some sort of Ktec suspension role.

Was a bit odd in the way he went!

I phone peak performance up mid june and the answer phone message said he was stopping peak performance and working directly for ktec.

A real shame as I've just fitted Ohlins front forks and a nitron rear shock and now stuck to find someone local who can set it.

If anyone knows of anyone who can set up suspension please post up.

Cheers

Don't care who you are, how much you have, how powerful you are. You still sit on the toilet with your pants around your ankles. Yep, it's a level playing field..

Hate to tell you this but I went to SP before knowing about Steve and they put me on to him and they have ...... sorry had all their track day bikes set up by him.

I am glad I got all my work and settings done with him early this year but gutted that he is not still about. He is a set up god the bike has never felt so good.

I have all my work done by SP as I think there service is great and at a reasonably price :)):

It is true what menzies3032 said that SP get all of there track bikes set up by him. Been doing some research and there is BMC in Bideford, it's a ride but he has many years experience in track racing and track days.

If anyone has used BMC Bideford please post up.

Cheers

I have the Number for an ex-racer who lives in the area who does trackbike suspension set up. He even comes to your house to do it.

He might have even registered on here at one point. Will do some digging.

Personally I use MCT.

Quick turnaround except went they are at the TT.
Do quite a lot of Club racers and National race teams. One of the top guys in the County at the moment. Can't get much better providing you able to strip the suspension out of your bike.

Cheers Billinom8s

I will give him a call as my 10 requires a good setup as the front forks have just had new springs, seals and oil.

Cheers

Didn't know there was a requirement for it to be local. Was just trying to give good advice and I did say “Providing you able to strip the suspension out of your bike.”
