the mellow-dahli Bristol bashing thread

Post by Dailaughing »

She got nabbed by a driver pulling out from a pub so is off the road for a few days at least. Bruising and whiplash but nothing major. She coped well with it, minimised the damage but just couldn't stop in the time he gave her. Police agree it was completely his fault so should be easy claim (on his insurer!).

I'll fix my profile now. Wasn't sure at first if I would be hanging around and then forgot to go back and do it.

dammit! sorry to hear she's had an off :( but at least with police on her side etc it should be a fairly straightforward sort. I hope it hasn't put her off entirely, but might take her a while to regain lost confidence? An even better reason for having a new rider ride!!

Wasnt sure if you'd be hanging around? ha, we don't let you go that easily fella  :)): :)): :)):

She's currently like an addict without a fix! No chance of it putting her off. If we had a local hire company she probably would already be on the road already even though she can't really walk. Just need to know if it was a right off and then decide what to do. The quote was a very near thing so hard to tell.

Hey, I wasn't sure I'd stick around because this place might be full of weirdos or something. It is so I'm staying around even if it means having to put up with Bristolians.

I was born in Yate, first lived in Chipping Sodbury, both sides of the family are from Bristol and my parents still live in South Glos.. Oh and my wife lived in Chipping Sodbury during some of her childhood. That whole area sucks;-)

At least I imagine it does since I hear all the speed cameras are back on again now. I always used to like driving in Bristol but now it's just like London with people dithering around all the time. I still like it as a city though and the only other one I liked was Barcelona (for different reasons) so that's saying something.

It all sucks these days :-l

Kingswood, Keynsham, Whitchurch, Long Ashton, Nailsea, Avonmouth, Henbury etc. were all 'country' villages when I were a lad.
Yate and Sodding Chipbury were a couple of churches, half a dozen pubs and a few houses. No m-ways, no ring road, no bye-passes. Twas all good fun.

:( :( :(

Should be back on the road in a couple of weeks, West Dorset based, what about a West bay to Weymouth ride, or something along those lines ?
If you don't ask, you don't get !

Now mellow that's off topic you naughty boy.

On topic again...

...no way can my first rideout ever be organised by me so come on you Cornwall residents where you goin' to take me? Helpful if my daughter could meet a few fellow 125ers as well (she's now on a Suzuki Marauder instead of Chinese so capable of keeping up more easily).

I'm pretty sure this WAS a rideout thread but I hijacked it and started a Bristol theme going. Now it appears to be a loose thread;-)

I needed to bash the Bristol area because from there you can ride most of the central and West areas of the country whereas if I go far North, West or South I get very wet which limits my rideout possibilities (so it was still a rideout thread and this one is as well). Jealousy.

Clear now?
