Teignmouth Bike Night thoughts!

Post by CharlieChan »

Evening,
I hear from a few sources that Teignmouth bike night isn't all its cooked up to be, but nobody says what the problem with it is. So whats the problem or isn't there one?
I'll go along one evening anyway just wondered how others found it!

i live in teignmouth and have been down to the bike night a few times.

there isn't anything wrong with it as such, it's just a bit small. One cafe, they are on you before you can blink for a 'donation',
It does seem to be going down the route of mid life crisis harley riders, S.O,A wannabes and patch members that turn up in droves.
I have seen groups of sportsbike riders who turn up to rev it, show off and then rip up the road.

I think it got bigger than expected and the folk who run it don't want to roack the boat by trying to enforce a little order and respect for the area and what the bikers are there to represent.

It's certainly not a hostile environment but at the same time i've been to a lot more welcoming bike nights at other loctions.

Worth the trip down though, even if for the fact it's a proper mug of tea and a decent slice of cake.

I'm only round the corner so let me know if you are making the run down.

A year or so ago Teignmouth bike night was cool a good brew and a chat with the locals, but it have got very clicky with guys on choppers which is a real shame as riding a bike is about enjoying the freedom from the wife :))

I think if I'll be going anywhere this year it will be Paignton or Poole.

Cheers Jimbo

Paignton, surely that's way too close to home :D

Thanks for all your thoughts so far, doesn't quite sound like my scene but I'll give it a try one night.
