Helmet internal sun visor removal?

Post by Jug »

I've got an AVG K3 SV and I want to take the internal sun visor out.

I think the instructions said to "just pull it out" but after a trying that it feels like it wants to stay in.. I don't want to force it and snap the plastic brackets.

Has anyone removed an internal sun visor from a similar lid?

Tried that. Loads of people keen to show you how to change the external visor but none with the kahonies to tackle in inner one! Lol.
I've sorted it now though.. Had another look after a couple of beers... Tried somethings... Mission accomplished..
I might even write a "how to" :)):

It's great having an integrated sun visor, like having sun glasses always available... it's just that the one that comes with the lid isn't quite dark enough.. Replacement ones are available but are £40... that's a lot for small piece of plastic, especially when the whole lid only cost £90 delivered... and you're originally from Yorkshire.. ;)

Then I had an idea... I've got various shades of dark car window tint film left over from previous jobs so I'm going to pick one of them and give the inner visor a darker tint.
I'll take some piccies and let you know how it goes. :D

Tint didn't work - the film won't follow the contours without creasing.
Looks like I'll have to part with some beer tokens after all. :80:

Not tried it mesen but thought of getting it as I'd like my internal visor darker...not dark enough for strong sunlight. Also from yarkshire too so can't be spending too much, got whippets to feed tha knows :D

lol - got to take care of them whippets, and the ferret down your trousers. :-s

I'm not keen on sprays as I'm not sure the coverage would be equal enough, plus it might flake off the plastic visor, or melt it!
For now I'll just wear shades as per usual.

The other way is use plastic/fabric dye.
Rit dye is a good brand and can tint plastics with it.
