Just a word to the wise, there used to be an active Gatso on the A37 immediately after descending Wraxall Hill, northbound. I haven't been that way in yonks so don't know if it's still there, or active.
If Phil's going to be there I could join at the Eagle as well. Could we arrange a pick-up at the Eagle for 930?

I could go straight to Shepton Mallet but the Eagle is a similar distance and for me the ride there is more interesting.

Leaving Tiverton Mcdonalds - 09.00
Beambridge Inn, TA21 0HB - about 09.15
The Eagle, TA20 3JE - about 09.45
Shell garage, Curry Rivel, TA10 0ER - about 10.10
Quarry Inn, TA11 6DZ - about 10.30
Cannards Well, Shepton, BA4 4LY - arriving about 10.50 to leave with Larry at 11.00

The above times are approximate for PASSING THROUGH on the way to meeting Larry unless anyone positively asks for us to stop for them to join the ride. At the mo' looks like we'll be stopping at the Eagle, could be there for 09.30, though I expect it to be more like 09.45. Though I'll be aiming for a brisk pace the unforeseen and traffic could well come in to play that's why my timing guesstimates are on the cautious side.

Coming back I fancy an old favourite, the B3227 from the back of Taunton to Black Cat junction (near Bampton) and on to the South Molton area. Probably the A361 from Shepton area to Taunton though unless anyone knows better?:-

Peeps can peel off at Black Cat for Tivvy or carry on along the "Exmoor TT"

...............Start will be Tiverton McDonalds, meet 08.30 to leave 09.00

We'll avoid the main roads as far as possible to meet Mellow and the northern contingent. It should take us about 1.75 hours to get to the meeting point at the Cannards Well Inn at Shepton Mallet using this route:-

No longer there. None of the old Gatsos are live in Somerset, and haven't been since they turned them off in about 2011. Just a few of the new digi ones to look out for and the mobile units (vans and bikes)
Cheers Scorch, Police funding cuts have SOME benefits and we can rest easy on the A37 eh?

Thing is Brian, where's Mellow heading after we meet up at Canards Well? I'll go along with the B3227, an old favourite of mine; but depending where Mr Brissle ends up, how are we gonna get there?
This question need answering. Come on Larry where are we going? Us Devonions need to plan!

. . . . . . . is the Fut out of intensive care yet?
A scurrilous slur on the integrity of the (in)famous Fut Sir; it was never in intensive care, it was merely resting!

My section is approx. 60 miles and will terminate at Sheppun Malleh, very close to the start.

There will be a fuel stop not far from the start, and lunch about half way.

To humour Jim and the rest of you lot I'll repaint the Fut a nice shade of Norwegian Blue.

Good plan and excellent organising. :)

I'll probably be at The Eagle (unless it's raining), no need to stop, I'll just tag on behind you all.

Better to stop, you might tag along behind the wrong group. If you don't get to Canards Well before Monday lunchtime and you've never exceeded 40 mph you may have joined an AIM or a 1200GS owners group rideout by mistake.
