Hello and bike advice

We have recently moved to near Truro from London and I thought I would say hello and ask some bike advice

I am looking for a new bike and am not urge which way to go, it will be used for weekend fun and going to work occasionally
We live on the roseland peninsula so lots of country lanes and back roads berfore I hit the A390 to st Austell for work

I recently got rid of an apr ilia dorsoduro 750 as it was to tall and before that had a Ducati 749s but found it a bit underpowered unless over 7000 rpm

Heart says Ducati 1098 or 999 or ktm Rc8
Kawasaki ZX12r had one before and loved it but that was on clean smooth London roads
Head says ktm 950 supermoto worried about seat height

Previous bikes include yzf750 sp, rsv1000, fire blade, 749s, zx12r,

Any thoughts experience or useful advice would be appreciated

You don't mention budget, but an MV Brutale might fit the bill - especially the triple ....

Thanks for the welcome and advice and I will have a look at the MV, my budget up to about 8k, yes the area is lovely and I can wait to get a new bike am just worried about what will handle the roads

999's are great and a lot of fun, but they are not built for comfort! But if the only flaw you felt in your 749s was the power, you'll be bloody satisfied with a 999.

You don't mention budget, but an MV Brutale might fit the bill - especially the triple ....

I read up about the Brutale before buying my SD and a particular owner review on MCN was very critical of the service costs, the constant engine oil leaks and finally the power range, and the fact that it's all up top.

For a back roads and country lanes bike I'd say a Naked is what you want.
Supeduke (990 or 1290 depending on budget), MT-09 would be sweet, as would a Speed Triple, or maybe Z1000 or CB1000r if IL4's float your boat.

I almost bought a CB1000r instead of my Superduke but was swayed by the V-twin goodness.

As others have mentioned above I think you going to be better of with a super naked bike for the roads you a riding and what you sound like you are interested in. Could not agree more with Jug Inspectors comment below I would have gone with the same list. the only one that i would add to the list is the Suzuki GSX-S 1000

However if your into Ducati and KTM then it sounds like you like the riding style of a twin which might rule out the rest unless you want to try something new.

MT-10 or CB1000R.....Or if it must be a twin.....Superduke 1290 (all FAR too powerful....lol....but I'm gathering you want low-rev stomp..Capacity is the only answer to that).

If you like Ducati have you thought about a monster 1200, I’m biased but SD 1290/990 are well worth a look looked at a MV last year & I found the seat hard . Try a few out is the best way
