You are of course welcome along to any Southwestbikers rideout, however your bike must be in good mechanical order (we don’t want anything falling off of it including you), taxed and have a current MOT. You must have a valid motorcycle licence and current motor insurance. You are in charge of your motorcycle at all times and SWB will not accept any responsibility for actions you take or any accidents you may have. Always ride within your own capabilities and do not put others at risk. Remember, while you are on a Southwestbikers rideout you are representing the site and what it stands for.
Thank-you.

Don't forget......ANYONE can organise and run a rideout.

Roy Bulcock Memorial Rideout - Sunday 14th April.

Post by Robbo87 »

The Roy Bulcock Memorial Rideout – not to be missed!

A lot of members will remember that Brian (Ptolemyx) and I suggested a rideout be held in memory of our much-missed friend and fellow SWB member Roy Bulcock and it was agreed by many that this should happen. The details have now been finalised.

To cater for our variously located riders we will have two collection points, (1) Exeter M5 Services and (2) the Shell service station on the Wellington ring road; joining up at the Bluebell Cafe, Willand EX15 2PF (Esso fuel available there) to begin the actual ride. Please note that the leave times from the two collection points are prompt

Collection point 1: Phil (Robbo87). Gather at 0915 hrs at Costa Drive Thru (Exeter Services) EX2 7HF. Leaving at 09.30 hrs prompt for the Bluebell Cafe. Route: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Costa ... ?entry=ttu PLEASE NOTE: I shall be taking the B3181 route via Pinhoe and Broadclyst to Cullompton, not the M5.

Collection point 2: Brian (Ptolemyx). Gather at 09.30 hrs at Shell service station, Wellington ring road TA21 9AD. Leaving at 09.45 hrs prompt for the Bluebell cafe.
Route: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Shell ... ?entry=ttu

COMPLETE ROUTE from Bluebell Cafe Willand to McDonald's Tiverton: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/dir/Blueb ... ?entry=ttu

TOTAL MILES including from collection points then via the Bluebell Café = Approx’ 120.

NOTES:
1. The date is now confirmed as SUNDAY 14TH APRIL.
2. All size and shape bikes (Rik :)): ) are welcome; the pace will be relaxed and steady, as befits the day.
3. There will be a final whipround at the Bluebell Cafe. The amount collected to be added to monies already raised and held in the SWB account by Simon. This to be then presented to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust as requested by Roy’s wife Jean.
4. I will lead from the Bluebell Cafe to Jonesy's Cafe at Winkleigh. There will be a coffee and nosh stop there, then Brian takes over the lead to the finish at McDonalds in Tiverton.
5. As usual, we'll be using the 'drop-off' system so no-one gets lost.
6. Alan (Bkingalan) has kindly stepped in as T.E.C. for the event - thanks Alan!
7. If you're interested in attending, please let Brian or I know and I'll add your name to the rider list below.

Finally: Would those that still have them please consider wearing the hi-viz vests that Duncan (Blackgold) kindly bought for the funeral escort. Also, how about shoving an empty supermarket carrier bag inside your jacket a’ la Roy? . . . . . . . . . As a respectful nod to Roy's eccentricities, it has been suggested that, for the day, maybe the more enterprising amongst you could cobble together something akin to the wondrous 'extras' that he'd added to the famous bandit e.g. his famous 'Acme visor wipe', a home made chain oiler etc. etc. He would have loved all that! Perhaps draw the line at using M10 self tap roofing bolts for wheel weights though!

Definitely finally, please keep checking this topic for any and all updates.
