wanted - lacquerererer
I'm putting new plastics on my dirt bike soon, decals etc but would like to get them lacquered over once in place.
Does anyone know of anyone who will do it?
Doesn't need painting, spraying touching up etc etc. It'll just need a layer or two of lacquer.
Cheers

A clearcoat lacquer rattlecan will sort that I'd have thought. Likely there'll be a Youtube vid on it too.

Probaby best to get it done professinaly with 2 pack , the first sniff of petrol and most rattle can lacquers wash off or they go yellow in a short time , you can get petrol resistant lacquers in rattle cans though

Re: wanted - lacquerererer
This just sounds completely OTT for a dirt bike, especially as it's for flexible plastic panels.
What are you hoping for, a high gloss finish or just resistance to jet washing?

Okay.. well I can assure you mine has had its fair share of mud followed by jet washing.
The reason I'm asking is you can achieve the same result without having the body panels painted, if it's just peel resistance you're looking for.

I don't need them painted, luckily they're already coloured plastic. Just want to prevent the decals from lifting.
I did a rattle can job on the old ones and it didn't work, although that's Probs down to my shoddy spraying.

Re: wanted - lacquerererer
One trick is to get a clear lacquer touch up paint pen (the style with the brush in the lid) and then just paint around the edges of the decals.
The idea being it both seals off and smooths over the edges so that the water can't get at the edge to lift it.

Better way would be get someone to do the 3 stage vinyl.
Makes them scratch resistant and easy enough.
Doesn't make it much more expensive than the cheaper kits.
