Firstly, sorry to lose Billi and Rob. I hope whatever ailed Mrs Menzies and Billi was soon alleviated.
11 + a pilli trundled around the Mendips in fine style. Weather was as good as it could have been... No rain and couple of sunbeams if a little cold.
Hope the break-down got sorted (was it Alan ?)
Still don't quite understand who / what failed but we all got back together thanks to an intelligent guess of route by Brian (methinks).
There were some awkward JMs to be dealt with and as has been said, 99% perfect.
As I have said elsewhere, we can do 90% properly, 9% over and above the call of duty and nobody notices. The other 1% can cause havoc.
A couple of years ago I had half of 70 bikes spread over 3 counties because one chap got a bit fed up and vacated a major roundabout.Took nearly an hour to regroup at the half-way stop as peeps arrived from 3 different directions.
Thanks all - enjoyed it (and the chips).

Yep another good day. Thanks Brian and Larry and everyone else for the company.
Sorry I didn't linger Larry when we came to a halt but I was due to peel off at Shepton anyway. Hope the breakdown was nothing serious.
Hope to post a Dorset ride soon. As soon as the spring water dries up..

Remiss one has been, yes ( I'm getting too old for this lark).
Many thanks to Red (Nick) 5 for taking over the TEC duties.
I didn't bring a hi-viz vest as was expecting the boss (with his own). The golden bike was quite recognisable though.
All's well that ends well.

Shiite...7 hours !!!!
I realise that Sundays are the best for rides, and worst for recovery. The story that I got was that you were 'sorted'.
Good luck with the warranty. Sleep well.

I hate to say it but you can't beat the AA. They're chiselling gits for whacking up your premium every year unless you let it lapse and reapply but they're the only ones who have dedicated bike recovery trucks. The RAC frequently use sub-contractors too. I had an RAC subbie turn up once in a scruffy Transit with a tiny unsprung bike trailer bouncing along behind and no light board. I've never waited more than an hour for the AA.
Smiler, Will do. I'll sort the rideout as soon as the roads have cleaned up a bit. A lot of it's quite nadgery stuff and there's been a lot of spring water about which has washed a lot of gravel out. Its getting better, should be ready to roll some time in May. You may need your Fireblade...

I thought your bike sounded nice, a lovely discreet rasp to the exhaust. I couldn't hear it much once we got going though.
New tyres have been ordered for mine as she's getting a little scary now, especially on those roads up there.
Was anyone else's bike being pulled due to the strange banding on some of those roads?

I had an evil slide going through Burrington Combe. Nothing to do with throttle input, I was on a neutral throttle at the time, it just slid out on a slow turn. The road looks slightly damp and maybe there was something slippy there, diesel perhaps, though I didn't notice anything.
I've never liked that grooved surface through there. It does feel very squirrelly and my tyres are in good shape.
