What tyres are you running???

On my Daytona I have had the following:

SuperMaxxis - cheap crap the bike came with gripped well but sustained fast hard riding cooked them and contributed to me highsiding at 15 mph, D'oh
020s - my favourite as sticky as 010s when there warm but wear better.
010's - as sticky as anyone will ever need on the road and not bad wear.
014's - loads of grip (even all thro the winter) but wear out quickly.

On my old 400 I used BT45's which were always fantastic.

And on the little 100's i had i use to find Pirelli MTs worked best.

Would love to hear more info on continentals and avons - has anyone ridden really hard on these tyres??

I had the Avon Azaro ST last time and the rear lasted about 5K.

They were great in the dry but I had a few moments in the wet with the rear spinning, others on the SV site have said the same.

The Conti road attacks have had good revues on the SV site, they last well with good grip and tend to be cheaper than other brands.

Maybe it's a weight thing but I can honestly say that I have NEVER had a moment in the wet or dry with the Avon Azaro ST and they are highly recommended on the FJ site !!!

BT010's on my ZX9 at the moment. Wanted to try out Pirelli Diablo's but I got the bike up on the paddock stand the day before BSB at Thruxton & realised I needed a new rear tyre so had to get another 010 thrown on there as I was in a bit of a hurry! Need to replace the front as well now so have to stick with the Bridgestone's for the mo.
Have got on well with the 010's for everyday use though and have toured with an 020 on the rear and 010 on the front that worked quite nicely.

What's peoples views on religiously replacing both tyres at the same time?

use d207's at the moment, not used to bikes with 17" wheels you can actually get decent tyres for so to me they are a revelation and stick like poo to a blanket ;)

I got michelin Hi-Sports on the exup, 020's on the ZZR and some pirelli thing on the FJ

The Hi-sports are new tyres and I havent had a chance to really give them a go, only done 300 motorway miles on them, and the shocker on the ZZR is getting rebulit at the mo, so need some time with them too.

The only tyres I have found really bad were when I fitted metzlers to my thunderace, CRAP, CRAP, CRAP, switched to dunlops D207's much much much better

only get about 2,500 miles out of my rear tho.

You Will do m8...espically when you get them warm as they then grip like mad but wear out like foooook LOL

BT010s on my 400 found were miles better...offered pretty much but not exactly the same ammount as grip as the BT090's when warm...BUT overall gripped miles better (As they warm up easyier!) and lasted longer

Did cost a bit more mind you...but the length of time they have lasted, has paid for it

Only thing I would say is fit the right rubber to the bike...Don't go putting BT020's on a GSXR ffs if you want a tourer go out and buy one!

I don't know furry - i may not have the latest and greatest sports bike but i would say my riding was fairly sporty and the 020s have always been fantastic never any moments in the wet or dry.

I had D207's on mine and coz of the riding (mostly motorway) were squaring off. Have now gone for 020's and think they are the dogs!

I have D207's on mine at the mo, was thinking of changing to 020's or Diablo's next time I need a set , havent quite decided yet... know two fellow Horneteers who have Bridgestones and Diablo's on their bikes and both are happy with them... ohhhhh decisions, decisions
