cheers for that link just roderd a plate for me and my dad ! i wonder whos gona ge pulled 1st ! hehe

ok so help what can u have on your plate and it still be legal was lookin at the ones on that site and would like to get one but i dont know what is ok

None on that site are technically legal.

I'd just go for a 8x6 (9x7 is standard), standard lettering, no background or badge. Maybe a boarder and slogan if you are feeling fruity.

anything other than the big ones u get with bike are illegal.

all depends how much attention u want to get from the law. i think there is a disclaimer on that site telling you which plates are legal and which aren't.

stay away from single line plates as you may aswell just give plod £30 when u order one.

use your common sense when ordering and ask yourself whether a bored copper looking to 'up' his revenue total would pull you, also take into consideration how legal your bike/equipment is cos if they stop u on one thing u can bet your ass they will try and get you on others - tyres, can, visor, tax, mot etc etc

the garage name was on a legal plate i'd bet with plenty of room for their advertising and aso you'd find that the leagal plate is normally more than a show plate
as said before do you really want to give a copper a easy reason to pull you and end up done for illegal can,visor,bold tyres etc
if i was to get a small plate it would be at least 2 lines and probably only a inch smaller than normal as thats a mot passable plate unlike the single lines which arent

I have a 9 x 3 letterbox plate, but I can't help feelin' like i'm askin' to be pulled.

But I hate the 9.5 x 7.5 inch plate 3cross wacked on there to start with, so before we lose the option of buying small plates I may go 6 x 4.

Another option is to get a cheap private plate.

Get either an Irish plate with an 'I' and as few a numbers as possible or one straight from DVLA/EBay with say 1 number (eg A6 ABC) or even letters that can be 'trimmed' (ie E,F,L).

Use letters with standardish size and font, close the spacing up by a couple of mm, do the same with the blank surround and you 'll have a number which will easily fit on a 6"x6" plate without drawing attention.

I used to have G11 XXR reading as GIIXXR (letterbox style) on my old GSXR and got pulled (and fined) a few times with the threat of the bike being issued with a Q-reg if I continued. I've since used an old Irish number that I used to have on my car and even though I done what I've suggested above, it's never been the reason for a pull.
