got to agree with ya simon,when we do the cbt training we say your a prime target 2 up on anything 125 and under as some youngsters will ride with no plates etc, at the end of the day yes he held you up by 10mins but if your bike had been stolen you'd have been pleased if he did stop the thief

Considering the sitaution with the apparant theif in my area, I'm now pleased that I was stopped haha
Amazing how things change, I'll admit I was anoyed and shallowed minded at first as I felt like I was being picked on, But I can see the reasons why and just hope to hell that my bike's still there every time I come back to it.

Sorry to go against the flow but aren't they supposed to have a reason?? Not just the fact that if you look guilty you probably are!

Umm already am paranoid. I can see some sort of reasoning behind it but do feel bullied.
Everytime I go out I'm always looking for cops.
But when I carry my girlfriend on the back I'm never breaking the speed limit and looking in my mirrors constantly, thats all fine but at night you just see headlights behind you and I think oh my god is that cops following me again? Ares cops nearby, are they watching me again? What have I done wrong?

It doesn't help I've been told by several people that most of the time they follow you for a bit to LOOK for you doing something wrong

You will always be looking for the police. If like me only to know that you have to slow down

The police have to provide sufficeint evidence to bring a case against you, rumour and heresay are not good enough, also, a cop saying " I saw him doing it " isnt good enough either. They need you to admit to the offence or have evidence that proves beyond reasonable doubt that you did whatever it is you are accused of.

A police mans word is given as sufficient evidence these days sadly. Just always best to have a look at the ticket, especially the offence code as they get it wrong so many times and then it's not valid.

Same thing with bus lane fines then, look for their mistakes and thus the offence is void. Nobody is perfect

Anyway I'm now wanting to be stopped for no reason. So I can go, yeah and why aren't you guys doing anything about the thief that trashed our bikes and stole clutch levers!?
No doubt they'll suddenly "let me go on my way"...

Gotta agree with Chaos...it's the same if your speeding and a copper pulls you over...if he or she is on their own and there is no recording equipment fitted in the car to state what speed you where travelling at... and as long as you don't hold your hands up to speeding then all they can do is advise you on your driving...and if a traffic cop pulls you, ask to see the calibration certificate for the measuring equipment they've measured your speed at...no upto date valid calibration certificate for that equipment and you stand a good chance of getting away with it.

I have got away with speeding after requesting to see the calibration cert before.

They stopped me for doing 56 on the A5 which is a single lane carraigeway so 40 limit in a truck but a 60 for cars and it was at 8 am on a sunday.
The only thing in a 10 mile radius of us was an industrial estate.
