Apaprently, and from what I have heard on the WSB they sound a bit more like a twin but slightly different.

Everyone is different...For fun I prefer Gixxer Thous to R1s but for track R1 seems to hussle easier but again, everyone is different.

I used a 99 R1 as a road bike, worst standard suspension EVER. Made my ole TL feel good.

TLs are a right hoot on the road, cheap and cheerful, you will find the R1 a million times easier to wheely obviously being an IL4, sit in 2nd all day.
