Thanks mate, I wasnt sure if I liked it or not when I ordered it but people seem to notice it so s'ok!.. The helmet was only £120 of ebay and I've only ever seen one other like it. It's comfy etc but im lookin to buy another one soon as my mate nocked it off the back of my bike the otherday.deej wrote:Tom, I like your lids graphics

Arai Chaser, Bought it earlier this year because my 5 year old HJC was a bit worse for wear!
I tried on every brand i could find, and the Arai fitted best. It was a bit of a decision between the Arai Chaser or the Shoei XR1000, but after wearing the Shoei in the shop for a bit it was nowhere near as comfy as the Arai.

All that crap about renewing your lid after dropping it is an old wives tale IMO. Unless ur worried about the paintwork being scratched keep itTom1528 wrote:Thanks mate, I wasnt sure if I liked it or not when I ordered it but people seem to notice it so s'ok!.. Arai Astro R
Always had Shoei's & thought they were good until I tried an Arai.

that's just not right, a seemingly light impact onto a hard surface can weaken the outer shell and make it less effective in a crash, you can get helmets reconditioned after an off by some manufacturers, but i think they x-ray and ultrasound the shell to make sure it's not been weakened.delvey91 wrote: All that crap about renewing your lid after dropping it is an old wives tale IMO. and when the stuff under the outer shell takes impact, it stays like it, so that area will be weakened. And it's not the first time my helmet's been dropped.webster wrote:that's just not right, a seemingly light impact onto a hard surface can weaken the outer shell and make it less effective in a crash, you can get helmets reconditioned after an off by some manufacturers, but i think they x-ray and ultrasound the shell to make sure it's not been weakened.delvey91 wrote: All that crap about renewing your lid after dropping it is an old wives tale IMO. Shoei XR900 - getting a little long in the tooth now ...... been looking around but haven't found a deal that's coerced me to part with the cash yet ....... though I've seen an XR1000 for a nice price, and also an Arai Signet, though in the past I've not found Arai's fit my head shape
Of all the things I have ever lost, I miss my mind the most .....

Just bought a Caberg Trip in Matt black a little while ago as i wanted a flip front and the Trip Has a 5* sharp rating and a drop down dark visor inside, handy if you wear glasses like me and don't want to carry prescription sunglasses round all the time, Matt black not so good though, its shows up greasy fingerprints too easily........

ever seen the inside of a dropped helmet matey, you'd soon change your mind if you saw how easy it is to damge the inside without marking the outside.
its also interesting to see the difference in the lack of shell and padding thickness on a cheap chinese helmet compared to a top spec one

KBC VR1, got it for half price several years ago from Cissington Leathers, so bought two, one for me and one for Becs. Comfy lid, bit noisy but good value for price.
Cut me in half and I'v got Suzuki written right through me!

Re: what helmet do you ride with.....
I've always wanted an Arai RX7, finally saved the 500 smackers for it then tried it at the shop and it was the most uncomfortable thing ever, just didn't fit my head.ZXR400Lee wrote:Managed to smash in the back of my Arai Condor in my accident.. and now I've ended up with a [Censored] huge scar in the back of my head!
Before getting a new lid again I tried every single brand.. expensive brands.. not cheap crap.. I wanted a Shoei MultiTec.. because I wanted a Flip-Lid.. but they wouldnt fit on my head properly..Must have tried 20 different helmets.. but it would seem that only Arai fit my head comfortably!
So I bought an Arai Condor, which is perfect, and saved myself £250
