Rubber recommendations...

i looked into it loads before i got.......corsa 3's and then was told they were wooden i've ridden them on the road and track however, no problems and gave plenty of grip

Pilot Power 2ct's seem universally claimed as a great road/occasional track-day tyre with good tyre life on the TL site

Pilot Road 2ct's seem to get a mixed review - I know of at least one person who reckoned they made the bike feel a bit nervous, but others reckon they're a great road/touring type tyre .....

I've been using Pirelli Diablo Corsa's which are good grip wise, were great price-wise (£140/pr), and the rears seem to last 2000-2500 miles on the TL (2 rears to a front), and your bike is probably easier on tyres than mine

I couldn't feel much difference between the Power 2ct's and Road 2's having had both on the SMT. Think the Power Pures (as already mentioned)supercede the Power 2cts. See www.fwr.co.uk

i would stay away from corsa pro racetec and the such as you wont get any good millage on the road although there absolutly great on track i've used both and would use the racetec anyday
i can strongly recommend the 2ct and the roadsmart, i had to ride like the clappers in torential rain and the 2ct handled very well and with 5000 miles and the road smarts i used to go round europe got just over 6000 out of the rear and a lap or two at the nurburgring, and beleave me 6000 is nearly double of what i get out normal rears, the 208 dunlop is quite good but you need a couple more psi in them as they seem to have soft side walls

The 2ct's won in the end, lots of people recommending them so here goes I guess!! A VERY short ride today and the bike feels totally different!

Tyres are a very personal thing and choosing the right tyre has a lot to do with you being honest with yourself with regards to what you'd like and what you really need.

My 23 year old GPZ 1000rx has Avon Roadrunners on it and give all the grip I need for the type of road riding I do on it and warm up quicker than any tyre I've ever had on my Gixer thou, and cost half as much and will last twice as long.

I've had Dunlops, Pirelli, Bridgestone, Racetec and so on and so on but have had to go through the process of finding what suits me rather than what trying to work out what suits others.

I hate Dunlop road tyre's because I've lost the front on several occasions (qualifier RR, 208's, 207's) but fancy trying the Dunlop slicks on the track bike.

I hate Bridgestone road tyres with a passion because they feel very very wooden and don't give you any warning of letting go, they just snap.

Always found the Pirelli Corsa a good tyre on the road but they do move around a lot on track with a bit of enthusiastic riding but that's a nice warning imo.

To date my favorite road tyre is the Michelin power one street.
They warm up fairly quickly on the road and feel soft and love the feel of the front tyre, they really aren't bad in the wet and they will withstand a bit of a abuse on track without protesting to much.
Only downfall they have is that they're a bit of a dirty tyre on track a snot up quickly in colder temps.
