ide go with a road legal can that becomes a race can once the baffles are removed, just keep them under ur seat lol an air filter should give you an extra fractional noise difference too.

one little point - noise testing per se is not part of the MOT. I never change the cans on my bike for the MOT (never actually had the standard cans) and in 11 years it has never been a serious issue. The worst I have had is an advisory note saying it's louder than stock (and in fairness, I suppose you could say it isn't the quietest bike around  ). I think a lot comes down to finding a decent MOT tester and sticking with them, building up a raport so they know you .....

Something I will say though, is the noise is very bike dependant - no 90 degree ever sounds bad on open pipes. My old GPZ11 with a Harris Works pipe was loud but acceptable, GPz550 with an Alfa 4-1 was plainly offensive, yet my Exup 1000 with a slim and baffle-less race Micron was actually quite civilised thanks to the Exup valve :)

i have the standard pipes on my r1 but with different baffles fitted, there only like £65 on ebay and my mates i ride with are un able to hear there bikes over the noise mine is kicking out, and when looking at it you wouldnt know any different from stock ;)

this is the only clip i have where you can hear it and it does it no justice at all

my bike is so loud and all i have done is change link pipe and can and if that's not enough then cut that sucker in half %-( then change back to standard for mot time

a neighbor just got a carbon can with stainless link pipe for his R1, excellent quality and build, was about £80

danmoto website, I bought speedos from them for custom builds, but having seen this exhaust, I have to say its very tidy for the price

his R1 has got a bit of a growl, but nothing TOO bad, sounds very nice on the over run when following it.

its a bit strange as its quite tolerable when its pootling out of the carpark by our house, but once out on the main road you can really hear it crack on,

depends on how much u wanna pay.
have been looking into exhausts for my ninja and will probs go for a decat pipe and endcan.
should add a bit of volume and will sound better.
akrapovic and remus do decat pipes for around £80-£110.
can get cheaper ones on ebay if u look.a company called spengineering in frome do em.
endcan is more about what u are prepared to pay and what you like the look of.
give me a shout if u wanna bit more info.
