The RR was the homologated 600cc race version of the 636, had different pistons and slipper clutch and was much more track focused than the 636, theres usually a few around and are very keenly priced tooZXR400Lee wrote:Good point... I was thinking about this last night! so ended up looking at 2002 ZX6R J2 models..deej wrote:quick point to check is if the 636 can be used in a supersport class due to the extra CC's, if your after a kwak look for the 6RR that was a 600 and came with a slipper clutch to keep the race boys happy
What is the RR? not sure I've seen one before?

ZX6RR is basically a 600cc motor in the 636 frame, but comes with a slipper clutch, swingarm adjusting pivot and some other stuff.
Also aim for the 04 ZX6RR (It has a black frame) because it has much more racing addons that the 03 version did. Cant remember exact differences, but it was a much more competitive bike out of the crate than the 03 version.
It doesnt make a difference for trackdays, and you probably wouldnt get many proper race 636's anyone because of the cc size.
