Cool
the Bandit 12 came with a 5.5" rim (180 tyre) as stock didn't it? If that's the case it sounds like you already have a clearance issue with the chain ..... Possibly not too difficult to get the swingarm brace re-routed a little?
Of course, then a Bandit 12 wheel comes with straight spokes which negates yourr RF wheel search but opens you up to TL/Hyabusa wheels ........
Oh the joys of bitsa's .....

Bandit 1200 wheel should fit, but a tl/busa wheel will need frame work (certainly on a et frame, i know an efe frame is slightly wider) i know anything is possible. But its always best to have wheel's mounted inline

So started to put all the bits together.....
The underside of the GS 850 tank is too narrow for the frame so I am trying to find a TIG welder who can cut the tank and widen it by 2" to accept the frame. Unique tank and more fuel - Bonus!
The front spindle is too wide for the RF wheel so having a mate make me up a new one to fit.
Rear shock fits fine as does the rear wheel and sprocket.
Now for a Bandit 1200 engine! A christmas present from SWB maybe?!

Quick update…. It has a heart!
It’s not a bandit 1200 engine but it’s not too far off….
I managed to get a good deal on a GSX1100 F engine with oil cooler and carbs from a top bloke who’s also sending me the complete loom as part of the deal.
The engine has been stood still for a while, it needs a scrub but hooked it up this morning and it turns over fine.
Will get more pics up once it’s in the frame.

Well, you've made the one big decision - sit the engine back for the best chain run, or forward for the easy exhaust routing ...... So now you need to find someone to extend the headers on your chosen exhaust!
Looking great still

So after a good xmas and new years break it time to get back on the build...
MOOSE: To be honest the last picture just had the engine roughly placed. We have since moved the engine forward and Andy (AWS Bridport) has made some bespoke engine mounts.
Since the last update I have had a front spindle made up and had the fuel tank cut in half in order to widen it.
After cutting the GS tank in half and offering it up to the bike there were some clearance issues with the engine. I don't want the tank sitting high on the frame so..... Andy cut some more off the tank. Once it's cleaned up I think it will look good.
Over xmas I've managed to get a good GSX1100F Loom, Starter Solenoid & ECU. Also picked up some nice switchgears from a Z400 J2.
Next job is the front engine mounts....

Time for a well overdue update...
Visually, not a great deal to report but nothing wrong with posting more pictures ey!
Since last time...
Section taken out the Swing Arm Bracing to allow a wider tyre.
Engine fully mounted
GSXR1100 top yoke drilled to mount risers (Renthal bars & Z400 Switchgears attached in picture)
ZX12R 6Pot Tokico calipers have arrived but need a clean up.
Frame loop has been made so will start sorting the back end out shortly
Got rid of the large GSX1100F Oil cooler and switched for a smaller one that will be fork mounted (behind Racing Plate)
I also need to replace the GSX1100EFE rear shock with a Bandit 1200 shock (anyone got one????)
Next on the shopping list.... Bandit 1200 Down Pipes...
So if anyone has bandit pipes or shock up for grabs please let me know.
P.S. The seat in the pic is just there to get an idea of ride height....

Frame loop arrived in the post today from Paul @
http://www.oneoffwe.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Time to sort that back end out...

Finally I have had some time to spend on the bike build.....If everyone could please stop getting married, having stag weekends and moving house I would be very grateful!
I got the bike back home and let loose with an angle grinder. As you can see... quite a weight came off!
The back end still needs a good clean up but I could't resist getting the frame loop on the back to see how it's going to look.
I'd like to make it a solo seat but the other half wouldn't be too impressed! ;)

I reckon an old school flat seat would look cool on that, keeps the lines 'flat tracker' but gives two up seating.

That's the plan badger, my partner is a saddler by trade so she is going to make me a custom seat
I have made a bit more progress since the last post so will get some pics up shortly.
