Yes I had seen the thread and like most I am on the 11am start (where you need to be there before 11am????) I wanted to try and make the most of the ride so was going to go up the A303 then cut up the A roads to try and get a decent ride in rather then squaring off the tyre going up the M5. Are you interested?as I can see a lot of people seem to be joining from Taunton so I was guessing you were all doing the M5 route.

I will drop you a pm to discuss thanks for the offer

Interesting to hear how you get on with the Castle Coombe Bike Safe.

Personally never been a fan of the police bike safe after one of the officers involved down here pulled me for a small number plate, he got VOSA to look the bike over - when the VOSA chap said nothing wrong with the bike (2yr old GSXR1000) and 'it was very good'; the copper then said 'Are you sure?' before giving me a £60 fpn.

I've had lesser experienced friends do the police bike safe only to be told their ability was OK and he(we) weren't the type of riders they were trying to get to.

I did notice that the T&Cs for doing it mention that you have to do an Eyetest. Whilst you'll be dumb to ride a bike without having good eyesight, this does seem a bit over the top.

Still I've never been to one before so nothing ventured...

Hi All

Today went to the National Bike Safe day. Must say enjoyed the two and half ride each way up the a303 and a350. Very impressed with the day! Lots of stands and stalls to look at. The Police monitored ride was well planned with lots of Police available to handle everybody that was there. The feedback was very helpful and well received and the track time was awesome going to defiantly have to go back for a track day at Castle Combe.

Well spotted.

Would have been nice to have a photo or two when on the track. The Road shots are ok but could have been taken anywhere really.

I did the observed ride in the afternoon, was the 1st time I had done one, seemed in my opinion very good. The show had a good amount of stuff going on also.

I know that photos were taken on the day by a company and you could go and find yourself and purchase the photo. But after 5 minutes of sifting though photos of others I gave up. As you say the photos of you ariving could have been taken anywhere so not filling me with joy.

If anybody has a link to the track photos or knows the company that took the photos then please post it.

I didn't have time to trawl through the track photos either - they were taken by a company called 'Jim Gaisford Photographer', who do not have a website. They said you should contact them giving an approximate time of your track jolly. Tel: 01225743400 - Mob: 07778389257 - email: johngaisford405@gmail.com

I sent an email on Sunday but have yet to get a reply.
